It pretty much always makes a movie more realistic. Sex is a part of life, it's something everyone on the planet can relate to. Kind of like other experiences everyone has had, like your first kiss, going to prom, scoring a touchdown, going to parties, marrying the love of your life, buying a house, having a kid and cracking a beer open with your friend. You wouldn't complain about one of these incredibly common experiences being depicted in a film, so why sex? It's a part of life, and if you take it away from life it's not even worth having.

never ever, the author got in fights on twitter for being a fat gun nut and about adding new characters and not enough scenes with the original harem and trying to move the plot and got kicked from the original publisher, swapped publishers and artists, got in trouble with the new publisher by being slow and it's basically decided that even if he finishes it, it wouldn't sell at all at this point (which is crazy for a series that got 2 tv anime, like 3 OVAs, merch, etc.)
